Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Pinnacle Group LLC (“we”, “us”) handles information in the Horizon app for iPhone and iPad and on this website. The short version: your financial data lives on your device, and we don't sell it, share it for advertising, or track you.
Information stored on your device
Horizon stores the accounts, transactions, budgets, bills, goals, categories, tags and settings you enter on your device, in storage shared only with Horizon's own widgets. Horizon doesn't require you to create an account with us, and this data is not uploaded to our servers.
No tracking, ads or analytics
Horizon contains no advertising, no third-party analytics or tracking tools, and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Backups and exports
When you choose to back up or export your data, Horizon creates a file and saves it only where you choose (for example, iCloud Drive or another location in the Files app). That storage is governed by its provider's terms, such as Apple's for iCloud. We never receive these files.
The Horizon Assistant
The optional Assistant answers questions about your finances. To answer, it reads only the data needed for your question, such as matching accounts, transactions or totals.
- Apple Intelligence (default). Questions are processed on your device or by Apple's Private Cloud Compute, which Apple designs so that your data isn't stored or made accessible to Apple. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Claude (optional). If you choose Claude in Assistant settings, your question and the data the Assistant reads to answer it are sent to Anthropic, PBC for processing under its commercial terms. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy. We don't store these questions or answers on our servers.
Your recent questions and the latest answers are saved on your device so you can see them again.
Website icons for accounts
If you choose to give an account a website's icon, Horizon downloads that icon directly from the website you enter. No other service is involved.
Bank connections
If you choose to connect a bank or other financial institution, Horizon uses Plaid Inc. to retrieve your account balances and transactions. You sign in to your institution through Plaid, and your institution credentials are shared with Plaid, not with us. Plaid's handling of your information is described in the Plaid End User Privacy Policy.
To keep a connection working, our server stores the access token Plaid issues for the connection, along with identifiers for the connection and an anonymous identifier for you (from Sign in with Apple). Tokens are encrypted. Your balances and transactions pass through our server to your device and are not stored on our server. When you disconnect an institution, we ask Plaid to revoke access and delete the token.
Purchases
Any purchases or subscriptions are handled by Apple through the App Store. We don't receive your payment information.
This website
This website uses no cookies or analytics. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard request information (such as IP addresses) to deliver and protect the site.
If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply and help you, and we keep the correspondence only as long as needed.
Sharing
We don't sell or rent personal information, or share it for advertising. We share information only with the service providers described above to provide features you choose, or when required by law.
Your choices
- You can view, edit or delete your data in Horizon at any time, including all of it with Settings › Data › Erase All Data.
- You can turn off the Assistant or switch its model in Assistant settings.
- You can disconnect any connected institution in the app, which revokes its access.
- To ask about or request deletion of any information we hold, email support@pinnaclegroup.io.
Children
Horizon is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Security
Data on your device is protected by iOS security, including the device passcode. Secrets such as access tokens are kept in the device Keychain or encrypted on our server, and traffic to our server uses HTTPS.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
